Flash backs!

We went and saw Mall Cop today. I think I was that annoying person in the theater who laughed too loud. I thought it had some really funny parts. And I liked it that the kids could watch it with out getting embarrased at stupid parts that they add to the movies for ratings. I was having a flash back of the time gary tripped in the parking lot. They had a similar scene.

I was very happy that Gary felt well enough to go and see a movie today. It was the first day that he has been out in over a week since he got sick. I think he will ge ready on monday for work. Durring the movie the the film came off the track so we got coupons for a free movie! Thats what I like, two for one!
Vincent is grounded again from the x-box. His grades are slipping again. He thinks I am the meanest mom around. He has no idea. I am too nice, that is my problem. Such a hard life he has.

cool song and video! I don't know if added it correctly. I will soon find out!

Update on Gary. He is still in bed. This is the 3rd day in bed. At least yesterday he sat up and watched TV. Day before he slept all day. I hope to see him up and around soon. Cross your fingers. He was not taking his pain meds as often as he should have. So I will watch that closer today.

Girls Night Out!

Tonight I went out with some of my best friends.
Jan G has been a friend since elementary school. We grew up going to church together and spending all our free time at Krisses house.
Krisse is my cousin and we grew up as best friends and have been thru alot together. I know I can always count on Krisse in tough times. Love her!
This is a face that I love. It brings back so many good memories! Jan has always been entertaining and fun to be around. She is very animated. This face reminded me of going to girls camp and all the crazy things we did.

We went to dinner at the Dahlia- on 4th avenue. I had to try thier home made doughnuts. They are fresh and they shake them in a bag with some cinnamon sugar. Then they come with fresh cream and some jam! I tell you they were awesome! Definately was not on the diet!

We had a great time catching up on everything. It is great to meet as girls and share our food and talk about everything. I am so lucky to have such good friends. I lost track of Jan for a while and we are not letting her get away from us again. Our goal is to meet at least once a month for dinner. Jan has picked some fun places to go. Krisse and I don't get out much any more. So going down town is a treat for us. We usually have Jan drive and that is a exciting experience. She also works as a 911 operator. She took us to the call center and it was interesting to see how it all works. We are proud of the hard work you do Jan. You help alot of people everyday- how great is that!

1885 Dixpeek Wedding Photo

I am editing some photos for some cool frames that I got. I love these old photos that I scanned from Grandma.

Epiploic appendagitis....?

What is that you ask? Well this is what Gary has right now. We spent the evening at the hospital last night. You know us- we go crazy on the weekends. Poor guy wanted to go to the hospital earlier in the day. But i wanted to go to Carly's baptism. So that was at 3 and then I rushed back and he was feeling a little better. So we decided to go shopping at the clearance sale at Circuit City, then to Sports Authority. Well he was not feeling good again. So I drove us straight to the Urgent Care at Group Health. It was a nice change to go to their brand new hospital. They just built a new building next to Overlake Hospital. The new Emergency rooms are very nice. A good improvement. I know because I think i saw all the rooms at the last building.

So we go there at around around 5;30 pm and we did not leave till after midnight. It takes alot of time to run all the tests they did on him. For the CT scan they had to use a dye that you drink and then you have to wait two hours before they can run the scan. For that wait I went home and checked on the boys. They were getting alittle freaked out being home alone that late.

Here is the official Diagnosis:

Epiploic appendagitis is a benign self-limiting inflammatory process of the colonic epiploic appendices.

This disease article is a stub. You can help Wikipedia by expanding it.
HISTORY - Epiploic appendagitis (EA) has also been called appendicitis epiploica or appendagitis. To avoid further confusion with acute appendicitis the EA term is used more commonly now. EA is usually diagnosed by CT scanning and has become more widely recognized given today's higher resolution scanners. Epiploic appendages are small fat-filled sacs situated near the lining of the colon. They may become acutely inflamed as a result of torsion (twisting) or venous thrombosis.
CLINICAL COURSE - The average patient is about 40 years old and develops acute abdominal pain which may be left-sided, right, or central. The pain is sharp and stabbing and may be associated with nausea or vomiting. Fever is usually absent. The symptoms from EA often mimic acute appendicitis, diverticulitis, or cholecystitis. Initial lab studies are usually normal. Typically, a CT scan is ordered to help exclude more serious or surgical problems (above) and the inflammatory changes of EA are seen coincidentally. EA follows a benign, self-limiting course and may be treated with analgesics and expectant observation. The usual time course is about one week. A correct diagnosis is important to avoid unnecessary surgical or medical intervention.

I know you find it odd that i would take photos at the hospital, but after so many visits they all start to run together. So I am taking photos know to document it and make a scrapbook one day.

They can do nothing for him, just have to give him pain medicine and hope it heals it self soon.

To top it all off when they did the CT scan they found Gary has another Kidney Stone on his right side.

Doesn't Vincent look grown up today. He has discovered that he fits some of Gary's old suits. A Little big but he will fill them out soon.

Cute Andrew playing with Devil Dog Sandy. She is in a great mood right now.
It is also snowing outside! Not sticking at our house but it is all white up the hill on Summer Set. It has been snowing for over an hour!
Love you all and we will make it thru this fine. Just another chapter in Gary's medical book.

I seem to be taking alot of photos of birds lately. Kind of weird. But I could not resist taking this photo. I was on the ferry and he was just floating above me riding the draft of the boat.
We had a great ride home. The weather was beautiful.

Me on the ferry coming home from Whidby Island. Mt Baker is in the back ground.

Here is the Barn where we did all our scrapbooking. It is a great spot away from the house so we can get as loud as we want, or not.

This is the house that we had our scrapbooking retreat at.
I am glad to be home. We had a great time. I plan on attending next year also. Most of the ladies who attend meet 3 times a year for this retreat. I don't know how they swing it with their families. I only wish. Just imagine how many pages I could get done. I think I got about 35 pages done. Joni got about 45 done or more, Susan who was sitting next to me was so organized. She had a spread sheet of all the layouts she needed to get done and materials. She had a goal of about 89 layouts. I think she got to over 60. I may be wrong. But she was pregnant and got a head ache. So we let her slack.
I feel much better being caught up on some of my books. I have more to go, I will have to work on that spread sheet. :-)
Love to all!

Eagles

We had some visitors to the yard yesterday. Two eagles came and sat in the trees and were enjoying the sunshine. They would ruffel up thier feathers and spread out thier wings and just face the sun. Pretty cool to watch. I walked right up to the tree that they were sitting in. They did not seem to mind me. Plus the trees were very tall. They would hop to a different tree to turn around and get a different angle to the sun.

Scrapbooking Retreat!

4 days to scrapbook with a bunch of fun women! Right now I am up in Whidbey Island at a house that has a barn next store that has been remodeled into one big room. We have about 20 women here and we each have a four foot table set up in a big square around the room. Music is playing, and lots of albums are being worked on. Joni F and I came in a mini van and we filled it up for the two of us. We also bring food for a meal that we take turns in groups for everyone. We will be putting on a Tea Party on Sunday afternoon. 10pm and we are still going strong.
The house has about 5 bedrooms and sleeps 20 people easy. So when you get tired you head to the house and it is nice and quiet. It is really nice to have the scrap area away from the main house.

Well back to work. So far I have caught up on 3 albums. Many more to go.

Trying to snow again!

The global warming weather is driving me crazy. It is snowing out side right now. They say it will melt soon. But the streets are white and the trees are getting whiter as i write this. Vincent is hopeing for no school. That would be crazy if they canceled yet another day. I think it will melt, so not too worried.

Vincent got back from 3 days with the Porka's at their mountain cabin. Sounds like they had a good time. They have to use snow mobiles to get the cabin from the parking area. Andrew was invited to go also, but because it was snowing they had to use their smaller car. They ran out of room for him. He was disapointed but we did some fun things together. We went and saw "Marley and Me". Cute movie, glad i brought a hanky. I don't think it was what Andrew was expecting.
Catching up on our Vegas CSI's. Too many to watch.

Failed 365 Goal!

I have already failed at my goal of doing a post everyday for a year. I have missed a few days already. I tried doing this last year. To take a photo everyday. But know when I think about it, it really is setting myself up for failure. I will try and continue to do as many as I can. That way I wont fail and want to quit.
I hesitate to write my goals for 2009. But what I would love to accomplish are:
1-lose 20 pounds-exercise-better meals
2-catch up on my scrapbooks for Vincent and Andrew
3-Be more organized at work schedule
4-Have a regular Family Night
5-Have a date night set up with Hubby
6-Better scripture study
I am sure there are more to add to my list. But this will be a good start.
