Torn Soleus

Well we went to the doctors and found out how the MRI went. Good news is that he did not tear his Achilles muscle. Bad news he did partially tear his Soleus muscle. It connects to the Achilles tendon under the bigger calf muscle- Gastrocnemius. He will not need surgery. That is good. He will need physical therapy. So he is going to be on crutches still for a while. The doctor has no clue on how long it will take to get better. Maybe 8 weeks? He said the therapist will be able to gage that better. Soccer is over for him for a while.
Andrew has been so happy that his friend Andrey is back in town. They have been joined at the hip the last few days. I am not sure how Andrew is going to be when he leaves again to California. We will have to start talking about that. Prepare for it so it does not crash down on him. Last time Andrey left he was not given any warning or time to prepare for the move. He was upset for quite a while and cried alot. I am hoping that now he will know he will be back to visit every so often. I hope. The parents are going thru custody issues. I am trying to stay of out it.
Krisse won a Harley Davidson motorcycle today! Good job Krisse! I am very excited for you! Can't wait to see it!

Quiet House

The boys are both gone tonight. I took Vincent this morning at 6am to meet for scout camp. Yuck-I went in my pajamas. Vincent took a look at his pillow to take and it was so dirty that he decided to not take it to camp. Pretty sad. I think I need to get him a new pillow while he is gone.

I am so glad that I can work from home. I was able to help Gary today and keep an eye on Andrew. I even was able to stain the back lattice fence. Just one more section to do on the back side.

Never ending. Still have not finished the garage. I guess there is always tomorrow.

Andrew is at Andrey's so I can take Gary to the doctors early in the morning for his MRI. Fun

Scout Mom

Today I filled in for Gary who can not get around still. I helped volunteer at the Bellevue Arts and Crafts Fair. It was not such a bad gig. The Boy Scouts help empty garbage cans and keep the eating area clean. Then then Bellevue Square donates money to the scouts for doing this. The eating area is under cover and is out of the sun. Then you help the empty the cans around the food stands and wipe the tables down. The time went pretty fast. Some times it was pretty gross. But not so terrible as I thought it would be. I even got a little window shopping done while making the rounds.

Last night we had a small party for Andrew's birthday. The kids were cute and had a fun time. They played croquet and went in the hot-tub and then made smores in the fire-pit. Ice Cream cake and lots of cool Lego's as presents.

Vincent and I just packed his back-pack for Scout Camp tomarrow! What will I do with out my babysitter? He is very excited. He wants to bring the big six man tent so a bunch of the boys can sleep in the same tent. I hope they don't have to hike the tent in too far. It is very heavy. I am sending the small one just in case.

Sorry Gary!

I took Gary to the doctor today and he was in so much pain. I felt awful! The Doctor was not sure if he tore the Achilles tendon or not. He will be having an MRI on Tuesday. I feel terrible that I was feeling bad for myself yesterday. Sorry Gary. I know you are upset with not being able to get around any more. He is on crutches and in alot of pain. And for Gary to be in pain it must be bad.

I did a short run to the Bellevue Arts and Craft fair today. I found a lot of things I would love to buy. Not fair that I don't have a lot of extra money. I think I have great taste and could really decorate my house great if I could just afford all that cool stuff. I also got a parking ticket. I did not read the small print on the sign. Bummers. I am going to try and get back tomorrow to buy a cool yard ornament I liked.

Girls Camp

I went to girls camp last night for Stake night. It always brings back so many memories from growing up. It is never the same. Lots of things have changed. It was fun walking around and showing my new friend Keli the camp. I ate lots of scones and I made a few also. That was part of my job of helping to make scones. Nothing better than hot scones with honey on it!

Gary went and played soccer tonight and came home hurt. He thinks he has torn some kind of muscle. I am trying to be nice and help him out. But it really cramps my life. I will be nice. And I do care. I am here for him. But does it have to be so often?

Feeling like a bad parent this summer. I can't get Vincent to do much around the house. All he wants to do is play stupid video games. I try and get him to be out side. I had him help stain the latice around the deck. That was like pulling teeth.

He is going to work at the Belleveu Arts and Craft fair tomarrow for a scouts fundraiser. They empty trash cans and clean up. Hopefully they will work him really hard!

Richards Road Creek?

Vincent talked us all into going on a little hike today at our neighborhood park. It has a trail system in the woods that are by the power lines. Vincent found a deer trail off of it and followed it to a stream. He had us walk up the stream. It was felt like being deep in the woods in the mountains. It is crazy that it is the middle of Bellevue. Vincent has seen a deer and a racoon and even a beaver in the river. He took pictures with his cell phone of the beaver. I will try and figure out to how to post on this.

We went tonight in hopes of seeing the beaver. No such luck. But we did see two woodpeckers pecking on a tree nearby. Pretty cool. We had a good adventure. And saw lots of paw prints by racoons on the river banks. In the river we say two crawfish floating down. Parts of the river are pretty deep. And where the damm is it looks pretty deep. One of Vincents friends fell in and could not touch the bottom. He was short- so who knows. I was not going to find out.

It is a great place for boys to play and do boy stuff. Catch snakes and look for wild animals. They have been spending alot of time there and bringing their friends. Some do not get out much in nature and are not sure what to do. One boy asked " do beavers bite?" .

Jade Tree- Nanny's

So family-Do you remember this tree? I know is was Gramma Westra's and it is called the Jade Tree. But i know notheing else about it. I found it when I was cleaning the garage. It was a little bent up so I fixed it up a little bit. What is the story about it?

Andrew's is 8!

Today is Andrew's 8th birthday! I can't believe it has gone so fast. Seems like just the other day I was in the hospital having him! He woke up happy and excited to open a present. We had breakfast and then he got to open up two presents. Vincent gave him a new DS game "Raiders of the Lost Ark-Lego". He has been wanting this for a long time. He has not seen the new movie yet. He has watched all the old ones. Every time he wants to go see the moie, a new one other movies win out. Poor guy. It will probly be out on Video before he gets to see it. Sorry Andrew!

We will have a party for Andrew with is friends next week. He is waiting till his best friend is back in town-Andre.

We went to Toys R Us and thought we were going to get a new bike for Andrew. But he saw a new scotter thing and he changed his mind. With the help of his brother. The scotter looks pretty cool and is fun to ride. I can even do it. You have to wiggle your but alot.

We went out to dinner for Andrew and headed to Chillies for dinner. But the door was locked and looks like it is closed. Crazy. So we went to Black Angus instead. The food was Ok, you just can't beat a good Costco steak made at home. I am always disappointed when I go out for steak. I should just stay home instead and save some money.

Backyard BBQ!

Today was one of those days that you got to say you love Washington. The sun was out the trees are green and we saw blue sky! It's a good day when you see blue sky.

Vincent gave his first talk today at church! He did and awesome job. His topic was on the Prophets. He used his Dads advise on this topic. "The one thing you need to know about Profits is buy low sell high" given by Gary Sarchet July 12, 2008. He got a few good laughs to start his talk with. It went well. I think he was happy with it.

After church we had invited David and Julie over and the girls! So cute! It was so hot! The kids still went in the Hot Tub and then we had a fire for smores. Crazy day to have a fire. All the chocolate was melting before we could get the marshmellows on it. Then we put the sprinkler up so the kids could cool down.

Julie showed me a few tips for the blog. I will work on the slide show thing. I don't have it down yet. We all had a great time visiting and catching up on the family. Gary took a few photos that were pretty funny. You might have to check out Julies blog for those. I like to keep it mellow on mine in case I need to look respectable.

Back to work tomarrow. Yuck!

Garage Work!

The last few weeks we have been trying to get our garage organized. As you know one thing leads to another and a small job turns into a big one. We decided to insulate one of the walls and then we sheet rocked it. Then we taped it and mudded it. Today we thought we would texture the wall with texture paint. Thinking that it would cover the wall white in one application. Well the texture paint does not make the walls a solid white and the texture goes everywhere. I had to put on a shower cap and glasses and a mask. It was crazy I had paint everywhere. So it looks like another day to finish the wall.

Gary hurt his hand today when he went and played with Vincent. They drove up to Everett and went paintballing! They had a great time. But again Gary came home with bruises all over his body. Durring the fighting he slipped and landed wrong on his wrist. He is not sure if he broke something. He could not help me today with the painting. Good timing! :-)

It will be nice to get the garage orgainzed again. We have some new shelving to use for our food storage then we will know what we have and what we need.

Over 40's Soccer!

Tonight all the kids and I went with Gary to watch him play soccer. He recently joined a group for Men over 40. Last year he played with a group for over 30 and it was way too much for him. The men at that age are still alittle to hard wired. He had a fun time playing tonight. They won 4-1. It was nice for the boys to watch Dad play instead of the other way around.

Vincent thinks Dad needs to be more aggressive and be more of a ball hog! He was being very polite and did not want to rub anyone the wrong way being the new guy on the team. Way to spot it Vincent. Gary agreed and will be more aggessive the next time!

Go Gary!!!

Hey Allison you left town and did not tell any one! I hope you and John had a great time! 20 Years! Good job! You guys are awesome!

A litte behind- Sorry

I can't believe it is July and I missed a whole month blogging! Bummers- I had good intentions..............

Most of June I was very busy getting our Elementary school's yearbook done and printed and passed out and sold all the extras! I think this is the last year that Gary will put up with me being in charge of this project. He gets alittle stressed when I have no extra time. I dont understand! School got out on June 20th! Seems like it goes way too late!

Kandi Dodrill was my designer and she did a great job. We work really well together. But right now we are a little burned out of the Yearbook. We had a record amount of sales. It also helps that this is the most students we had this year also.

My goal now is to find someone to replace me. I have been doing this since Vincent was in Kindergarten! I have been in charge for about 6 years and involved for 7. Man I am getting old! I was planning on helping till Andrew was out of Elementary School. But I might get divorced if I keep beign in charge!

I also was busy making a slide show for the Seniors this year at church. We only had two kids graduate this year. So it was not too hard. Molly Conover graduated, she is off to BYU in the Fall. What a sweet girl. I got to help do her hair for one of the Proms she went to. It is a small world. She is dating one of Cathy Cooney's son (just blanked on his name) and before she was dating Cheryl Cooneys son Riley. She is determinded to be single for College and get in lots of dating. I am sure she will. She is so Cute! We are all very proud of her and wish all the girls could be this easy!

Andrew had a great day at school when they had Field Day. It is like a carnival for the whole school. I attended and just hung out and took photos. I was overwhelmed with the Yearbook. I felt guilty not helping of course.

On the 20th I took Andrew in for another Dentist visit. I all ways get nervous and hope that all is Ok. He has had terrible visits in the past. But I think we have it all undercontrol now. The Dentist did find that he has one permament tooth missing. It does not show up on the exrays and is doubt full that is will grow by now. So that means that we will be seing another specialist and figure out what to do. How bad can it be to have one tooth missing in the back. We will see...........

Saturday the 21st we get up at 5:30am and embark on a long drive to Utah for Angela Routsons Wedding! This is a very long drive and I didnt get packing till 6pm the night before. We were so excited to be leaving Washington and the terrible weather we have been having! Some have even been calling it June-uary! Rain and no sun and cold tempertures! It even snow at Stevens Pass 4 inches! We were so pale! I felt like I was sick from not seeing the sun! The drive went well and the boys were great! It took about 14 hours. We would have flown but the cost of airfares was too expensive. Gas was 4.30 when I left for the trip. When I got to Utah it was below 3 dollars.

I had alot of fun being in Utah to help out with the wedding and to get warm. Every chance I got i would go out side and just sit in the sun. It felt so good. Even though it was in the high 90's everyday, didnt bother me once! Mithchell Barned came up early from Vegas too hang out with the boys Vincent and Spencer. They had a great time playing Rock Band and going to the pool. Even though Mitchell did not enjoy the pools too much. He was sick of swimming. Too bad- that the bummer part of having a pool in your back yard. We all felt very sorry for him.

Cindy and I were very busy getting ready for the wedding. She most everything very well organized. We just had to do a few things like make about 300 cupcakes and frost about 600. Dip about 100 strawberries in chocolate and set up for the reception on 100 degree weather. No problem! I was alot of fun. Allison and Jenn got there just in time to do frosting and dipping. We had a lot of fun chatting while we worked! Even Shauns Mom helped out. It was fun getting to know her also! She is very nice and fun. She was alittle overwhelmed by how we all get along. She was an only child and was not use to the sibling conversations we had going on. All quite fun and friendly. Just a little teasing here and there when Allison did not frost her cupcakes very high! :-) Just kidding- she did a great job!

Wedding day went great! I think everything went smooth sailing! The bride was beautiful just as she should. Picture perfect in everyphoto. And there was lots! She was one of the most photographed brides I have ever seen. I guess in Utah the bride has a special photo session in her dress called "Her Bridals". They turned out great! I love the one with the mountain in the back ground! And her video was fantastic! Very talented photographer and video people she hired! Well both she and Cindy hired. Very impressed! Angela was glowing and looked so happy! I think they will do great. I am so glad I got to be a part of it. It is fun being an Aunt for these occasions!

The only downer part of the trip was that Gary was suppose to fly down and meet us for the parties! But the day before he was suppose to leave he was in the hospital with #45 kidney stone! He was in a lot of pain and needed to get an IV to manage the pain. His nurse messed up on the IV and blood squired everywhere. And she was not very gentle with his vien. He still has a bruise a week and half later. We decided it was better he stay at home and recover and try and pass the stone. It would be a long ride home in pain in the car. Nobody needed that! He was really looking forward to the trip. We all missed him. I dont like to have him miss all the family fun. I know he does like it. Even though he may groan durring it.

Well I feel as though i have written a novel. The trip home was long again. I missed Gary alot! My eyes were watering and scratchy from allergies. I had to wear my glassed and then put my sunglasses on top and the nose pad broke so I had a piece of tissure under it to protect my nose. I was a ugly sight. Sorry no photos of this were allowed. Then my window broke and would not roll down. So when we went thru a drive thru I had to open the door and look like a crazy women with my funny sunglasses set up. Oh well we made it safe and sound. The boys were good. Only a couple of break downs by Andrew. He always like to put the blame on some one else when he gets un happy. Very funny. Oh well............he does acknowlege it when I catch him on it. And then he says sorry and gets better.

4th of July we spent at Camen and Ovidio Elenes. They live on Cougar mountain and have a great view of Lake Sammamish. I smuggled a few fireworks in from our trip home from Utah. And the boys had a great time lighting them off. We had Christian Price spend the evening with us also. Cassandra seemed happy with this. She also had a friend from Romainia visiting. All the kids got along great and we had a fun night. Andrew loved the sparklers!

Go Andrew!

Good Night!
