Oh Canada!

What to do on a 4 day weekend?

Veterans Day on Thursday and the kids had Friday off also. Gary and I were trying to figure out. We wanted to go some where close and where we could do something fun and different.  We first thought of going to Victoria BC. That is a great place. But this time of year most everything to do is closed. I would love to just do shopping. But we decided the boys would go crazy.

At the last minute I was able to get us a great room at one of our time shares in Whistler Canada.
A little farther away. But we were lucky that there was no traffic at the border. It only took us 5 hours to get there. We have never been there and the kids were excited to go. So off we went!
Another stamp in the Passport!

Last year the Winter Olympics were held here. We went and walked around the center village area. Very quaint shopping center. Alot of stores closed right now. But you can tell that it was a happening place last winter.

They were having a sale at some of the stores for Veterans Day. We found a very cool coat for Vincent. Andrew also found something he wanted. He found a very cute yellow ski hat that covers your whole face and had eye cutouts and a smiley face on it. He so wanted it. But it was was 50 bucks. No Way. So Andrew had a long tantrum. Just when you think they have grown out of that stage. I guess we all throw tantrums, even today.

The mountains behind us were snow capped with fresh snow. When we arrived it was snowing but only stuck on the upper elevations. I would love to come back and see it in the middle of Winter and Summer!
A Rare Moment...The boys having fun with each other...No fighting!  Love it

My battery was going dead. Wished I had a longer video of the boys swinging together. I love this...:-)
Our next adventure in the Whistler mountains.
I am very glad we did not run into any bears.  :-)

We went to the look out spot to check it out, cool!

Can we do it?  Well, we pre paid so we better!

Looking good in his new jacket!
It looks made for him.

Vincent got elected to go first.
I wanted to do the photos first and get it all set up.

Yeah Vincent!
Good job. I did hear some screams from him. :-)

I love this shot of him!
Being pulled up and feeling free!
 Gary was up next.
I am so proud of him. He went with his gut feeling and decided not to make the jump.
This is a huge step for Gary. I love him, and want to keep him in one handsome piece.
Really no pressure from me. Who knows what weird thing could happen to him. I have seen it before.

But it is not going to stop me!  :-)
It really is scary. But you go up to the edge and wow it is really high up. 130 feet you drop.  Seems much higher!

I will post my video on the next post. Will not work on this one. :-(

I let out a scream the whole way down. It is the strangest feeling to step off something and never reach the bottom of the step. It is like a dream where you never land. You try and get your balance the whole time.
Crazy!
The hardest is just stepping off. Some body asked "What were you thinking?" I really did not try and think of anything. I have a talent of clearing my mind very easily.Oh be quiet....ha ha...I know what you are thinking...:-)
I think that was Gary's problem...he thinks too much.  But I am glad. :-)

A great feeling to have done it and then they pull you up. Nice!

Andrew was a good sport.
He had fun watching all of us crazy people. He could have gone, but I would never pressure him to do this.

Lucky Vincent got to go twice!
Good job Vincent! He did not scream the second time.

We went back to our condo and the power was out. They were doing some construction and something went wrong. We were not confident that it was coming back on. So we got to thinking......Andrew had a soccer game Saturday morning. If we left now to go home we could make it back by bed time. That sounded pretty good compared to sleeping in a cold dark room.

So off we went.
What a beautiful drive home. I love all the lush trees and mountains.
It got dark too soon...darn.
Next time I will be prepared to stop and take lots of photos along the way.

No problems going home. Nice to be in our own beds!
It was a fun short trip.
