First Day of School 2010!

Finally school is back in session! Yeah!
Andrew is in 5th grade! Looking so smart and handsome! He said I could dress him for the first day. He would not let me buy him many new cloths. But I did get him a new shirt! Last year at Elementary school. Wow... :-(

Yes, I did follow the bus to school. Like I always do on the first day. I must have the getting on the bus photo, then the class room photo! I have a few set photos I use for his scrapbook. Hey, I need to update that one of these days...

In line at school. Always a crazy day in the halls on this day. It is amazing how many languages are spoken by the parents at this school. A huge melting pot. I think they said over 50 native languages for the families in this school.

Meeting his new teacher...she seems very nice and young. Andrew seems to like her, so that is good.

Vincent ready for Sammamish! He was very excited to be back at school with his friends. I could not get a smile from him. He barely stood still for the photo. He knows he has to put up with me and my pictures.
I drove him to school. When I dropped him off I was not allowed to get too close to the front entrance. I suppose some one might see me. I wanted to volunteer and help with the check in for the PTA. But he would not let me do this. Hard to understand. All his friends like me, I think. I guess he is a true teenager and embarrassed by his parents.

Wait one more photo please?...guess not.
Have fun boys! Listen to your teachers! Take Notes... Don't forget to write down your locker combination...Be nice to all the kids...Don't make the wrong kind of friends...be good!...I love you! Remember who you are!
OK- these are all the things I would like to say, but they don't listen to me. I get out bits and pieces at a time.
Love my boys! I am proud of you both!

Andrew Soccer Tournament!

Shoreline Soccer Tournament
We had a fun hot weekend! Record temps reached 97 today. The boys played two games each day, Saturday and Sunday. Hot hot hot....the boys did a great job. They came in second place. Not bad for a rec team vs. select and premier teams. They were all frayed at the end of the last game. Hurt and dehydrated and sad they lost by one point.

They got to play in a turf stadium for the final playoff game. The boys were very excited about this. The parents were glad they had a shaded place to sit!

Andrew almost scored!

Nice and fresh looking this morning at 7am

Joy and Jerry- Favorite Places in Wa!

Chism Park
We had a fun picnic with David and Rebekah and the girls at Chism Park. The boys had fun swimming with grandma in the lake! I also saw an Eagle swoop down and grab a fish at the park. So cool.

Mt. Rainier
Road trip to the Mountain one more time! Dad and Mom already went up once with Janet. But I was dying to go and they could never say no to the mountain! What a great day we had! The sun came out and the drive was glorious!

Perfect lunch spot in the sunny woods! It even smelled good! Fresh clean evergreen air...does that make sense?
Of course we had to stop at the bend in the river....It has no name...it is just that one spot that we all love. It is around that one corner on your way up to the mountain top. This time the bend has changed alittle. The rock bed is not as smooth and is much smaller. But still beautiful.
Mom and I made this cool rock pile. Pretty cool...:-)
The boys crossing the river....so cold....I tried and I could not take the cold water...it hurt so much. I must be getting old.

What a cute couple.

We thought our Uncle who worked for Caterpillar would like this. We stopped on the side of the road when we saw it and had to take a photo. A CAT with a view!
Look Mom I can touch the top of the Mountain!
Grandpa getting that perfect shot of the pretty flowers!
I let Andrew and Vincent take a few photos with my camera.

There is a new visitors center and they have some cool new steps with a quote on it.
"the most luxuriant and the most extravagantly beautiful of all the alpine gardens I ever beheld in all my mountain-top wanderings" John Muir 1889-
It must have been and great place to visit back them...so untouched by people and so many more wild animals to see.
We found a great short hike on the way down from the lodge. It was uncrowded and the meadow flowers were so beautiful! Mom was waiting in the car while we explored. Her feet were hurting her. But I had to have her see this....she was very very happy she walked up the path with me. It was what we hope Heaven is like! Perfect!

Vincent and Andrew climbing the stream. Vincent climbed quite a ways up, then ran down the path. Oh to be young again. Mom was very jealous of Vincent being able to frolic and run in this wonderful place. Frolic was her word... :-)

Mom in her little bit of Heaven.
Good bye Mt. Rainier! We love you!
I have more photos if you ever miss her...I took about 300 on this trip. Hard to pick my favorites for this post. Lucky you I narrowed it down a lot.
Lake Washington on a Boat!
David took us on a short trip on his new sail boat. Rebekah was home sick..poor thing. We had a good time with David and the girls!

Gary did not want to go out on the boat. So he stayed on the beach and strange people wound up talking to him. Maybe next time he will come out with us. He hates to be stuck some where, were he can't leave when he wants.

Thank you David! Hope you feel better Rebekah! We missed you!
