Great Day!

What a great day! Andrew got Baptised! He was so excited. I am so glad it all went smooth. He is such a good boy. There were 4 other children who got baptised at the same time. I was so glad David was able to help Andrew with this special day.

Then it was off to soccer. Andrew had his first game today. They played a team who were pretty together! We have a lot of new kids on the team this year who have not play together before. We have only had one practice before the game. I am sure they will get better in time. I love to watch this age group play. They all want to score. I don't think they ever grow out of this.

Tonight we went out to dinner at a favorite restaurant. We have only eaten there once before, but the boys loved it. So this was a big treat for them. Andrew loved the roasted Pineapple with cinnamon.

Kind of freaky I got a anonymous comment on the strike situation. Did not mean to offend any one. We should all try and remember that the media never gives out the whole story on anything. It has to fit good into a sound bite to be used.

Still on Strike!

Ugh......................... the teachers on still on strike. It is starting to make me mad at them. With the news today of another lender GMC closing their offices it makes me feel lucky that we have a job. And then to see the teachers who have a job go on strike. I know things are not fair but really, can we be thankful for a job and try and do it! I would like the curriculum changed for the teachers, so they have some flexibility on what and how they teach. But really, I bet they could have gone about it with the PTA parents another way during school.

Then we have the Boeing workers thinking of going on strike also. How selfish is that. They have great jobs.

Just another example of how unions are working for us! Yikes!

So another day tomorrow with bored kids at home playing video games!

Teachers Strike!

Bellevue teachers go on strike

Bellevue teachers have decided to strike over pay and curriculum issues, meaning the first day of classes for 16,000 students -- scheduled for Tuesday -- will be canceled. About 1,000 educators attended a union meeting Monday.

Can you believe it! No School tomorrow! I had a feeling this would happen! Of course the kids are happy! But they were not too happy when I told them that it would cut into their vacation time this year! At least this will give me time to get their back packs ready to go. I just wish i new how long this would last. Then we could go and do something fun with the time off.

Black Berries

I had a great Sunday Morning at church and came home had a little lunch and a nap! How perfect is that. Then I looked out the window and saw the sunshine come out! Yes! What to do to make it even more perfect! Go Blackberry picking with the boys. So we went to our neighborhood park witch has some powerline trails and they make the perfect blackberry picking place. Lots of little hills so the water collects at the bottom of the dips and the black berrries get really big and juicy! This is the first berries of the season. I am glad to see that we have more to look forward to.

I am going to make my little individual pies today. For my family out of town, you should come and visit me and I will share the berries with you!

I think Steve is coming next week. Maybe I will send some home with him if anyone wants any.
