Released today from Young Womens! Yikes!!!

This morning I was sleeping a little too long and the phone rang at 8am. I should be at church by 9am. I am asked to come to church alittle early. What early, I am already running late. So I hurry iron a shirt for Vincent, find Andrews cloths to wear. Try and curl my hair get make up on and dressed and get out the door. Good thing fast sunday, no time for food.

Well I made it early and I had a choice to be released from Young Womens or work in Relief Society as the Enrichment Leader. So with Gary being sick lately it really does work better for me to not have activities every week. So with a heavy heart and a few tears I am now in RS.

I will really miss the girls and all the fun things we do. I felt terrible leaving Joni! We have become really good friends and work together great. I think I will call her every Wed just to keep up our tradition for last minute details on the nights activity. I hope they get some one great to replace me. But not too great so they don't miss me! Change is good...... I will keep telling myself that.

Sounders game 2!!

Gary was not up to going to the game, so Vincent brought two of his good friends, Christian and Eli. Eli is a big soccer fan. I was ready for rain. It had rained all day. We got a few sprinkles, but it was not too bad. We also won the game again! My only complaint is that for some reason everyone stood for the whole game. They only sat down at half time. I don't get it. I hope this does not become a tradition. People did this at the first game also. I thought it was OK for the first game because everyone was so excited about the game. But come on! We can all see better if we sit down.

This message was on the back of some of the seats. I thought it was funny. Report Knuckleheads! I did see a few of those. But i did not report them.

Still kicking! :-)

Gary did Ok today. I did not let him out of bed. This is him in the ER yesterday. This was toward the end of our long stay and he was feeling alittle better. He had his two cell phones, Ipod for music, a book and paper for notes. In case he got a good idea while sitting there? I don't know. But this did help distract him from time to time.

He thinks he is ready for work Monday. We will see how he does. He thinks he is better when he is not moving around, then he moves and remembers. We have an appointment with a surgeon on April 1. I hope we don't get any tricks played on us that day. I would like the appointment sooner. But none available. I am sure if Gary had stayed in the hospital we would have already talked to the surgeon already. Oh well....one day at a time.
This me on the way home from Vashon Island where I had an appointment with a Realtors office for work. I love ferry rides. But getting expensive. About $14.00 round trip for just me. And a very short ride. About 20 minutes.

Mount Rainier said Hello to me for a few quick seconds. I always love to see her. So pretty from any angle. It has been a while since I have seen her. Winter clouds have been in the way.

Pretty Olympic Mountains in the back ground. Interesting birds also.

Pinewood derby time. This is Andrew with his long face. His car did not do that well. I guess mom needs to get better at making these things. I mean Andrew needs to learn how to make them better.

Ready Set Go!

Cute boy (Andrew)with his cool car. He named it "Rollercoaster". They each had to pick a name for their car. They did a good job with the race. It was the most organized event yet. The track was hooked up to a computer and then projected on a screen with the times and names of the car. Pretty cool. It made it go faster also. The program figured out all the stats. Hooray for computers!

Gary is doing OK today. I made him stay in bed all day. So now he thinks he is better and can go to work soon. He forgets that when he moves around he is not feeling too great.

Epiploic appendagitis Still Painful

Gary went to the ER again today for over 7 hours to get the pain under control. First hour was waiting for the doctor. But anyways the condition is complicated as is the name. I have looked it up on various sites and it is still complicated. The simplest I can explain it is some kind of fatty tissue off of the colon by the intestines and stomach wall. It can become torn or twisted and causes serious pain. Well another CT scan it does not show it getting worse, but it does not show getting better either. They are forwarding his info to a surgeon and see what he has to say. In reading one journal it says surgery can be done with good success. But can lead to complications of hurting surrounding organs. Nice

I will keep you posted on the next step. We are having good bonding time in the ER room. Not much to do there while waiting for pain to lessen.

Gary had the choice of staying again, and wanted to come home. I don't blame him. But I just hope to keep the pain under control this time. We got more meds and will use them alot. He went to work today and did not take the meds this morning and it quickly got out of control. He thinks he is superman. I was on Vashon island working and he got home then had the next door neighbor Bobbi take him to the ER. I will stay home tomorrow and keep watch on him.

I took a photo but too tired to upload if off the camera. will do later-- thanks for all you well wishes and prayers. Much appreciated! Love to all!

Update on Gary

Gary was in a lot of pain last night and I took him to the ER. I had to get Andrew to his Pinewood Derby Race for scouts, so I dropped poor Gary off at the Hospital on the curb. Yes -terrible-but what to do. They wanted him to spend the night so they could keep him pain under control. He is still having problems with his side issue. He talked them into letting him go home. We went to the specialist today. He is going to put Gary on some more antibiotics to see if that will help it heal faster. On Friday he will do another CT scan. Then we will go from there. Nice doctor. Gary always get embarrassed by all the questions I ask them. But I need to know what is going on and why they are doing what they do. I am sure they roll thier eyes when the wife comes to the doctor visit. Too bad.

I was not at the hospital to take photos of this event. Bummer. My collection of hospital photos is getting pretty big.

I will post photos of the Pinewood Derby soon. He did not do too well, but it looked good! :-)

Surprise visitor- Brent!

I came home today from church to a visitor to my house. My cousin Brent McAllister was here. He lives in Spokane. We had a great visit. I don't get that many family visiting my house any more. Most have moved away. So I was very happy to see him. Gary and Brent had a nice visit while waiting for me to come home from church.
I look really fat in this picture. Man I need to start that diet. Maybe posting this photo will help me get motivated.

Congratulations Jenn and Scott!

We are so happy for my brother Scott and his wife Jenn! They have a new baby! Good job guys! Allison (Barnes Family) has more details on her blog about the joyous event! Love you guys and Afton too!

Go Sounders!

Opening night for the new Sounders. We are excited to be season ticket holders for our new MLS team. We won our first game 3-0! Angela and Shawn texted us during the game to see if we were there. They will have to come and visit us and come to a game with us.
Our first day tickets were attached to Sounder Scarfs. It was fun to see everyone wearing them. Our seats turned out pretty good. Only 11 rows back from the front. Everyone seams nice around us. We stood up most of the game. I hope that will not be the norm. I think everyone was very excited about the game so they stood up the whole time. It was exciting to see three goals!

Drew Carrey is a part owner of the team. This is as close as I could get to him. Bummers. Maybe in the future we will meet him at a game. You never know! :-)
We all had a great time! They sold 22,000 season tickets for the season. That is the most season tickets sold in the league. Pretty good for the first season. There were 33,000 people at the game. We left the house a little later than we wanted. The parking was sold out at our usual places. We had to park on the other side of Safeco field. We were prepared for rain, so it did not rain. Yeah! But we made it just in time for the opening ceremonies.

Love the 80's

I have been scanning some photos from the 80's. It is fun to see those old styles and to see myself skinny. Oh to have that body again. But I really don't want to live it over again. I am having fun seeing old friends faces. I wish I could see them all the time. I miss my buddies from high school.

I will post some of my favorites!

Updates- Gary is feeling alittle better. The pain is still there. But he can go longer with out a pain pill. He so wants to be over this episode. Just the body wont let it go that fast. His Kidney stones are still there.

Vincent is getting ready to go on a trip with some school friends. They are going to Costa Rica! I know spoiled. But he has worked hard with this Spanish for the last 9 years. This trip is his Christmas-Birthday and babysitting all rolled up. It is going to be a fantastic trip. I am very jealous. So we are getting his stuff ready to pack. I need to get some good bug spray.

Andrew is going on a trip also. He is going to go to Utah and spend a week with Grandma and Grandpa! He is so excited. He will go on the airplane all by him self. Andrew can't wait to go and see Brendon and Dallin also. They are his buddies and cousins. Last time we were in Utah they had a great time together! I am hoping Brendon will be up for the visit. Not sure when his surgery will be. Such a brave guy!

I am planning on a trip to Utah later to go to Women Conference with Cindy and Allison and Mom. It will be nice to be with the girls again. We have a great time together!
