Great Mothers Day/Birthday

I had a great day relaxing at home. I did not sleep that well, so I went and sat in the sun out side and read a book for a while. The boys made me breakfast. So nice. Then we went to church and had a great service. RS was really nice with a light brunch. Came home and just relaxed. I spent a lot of time on our deck. It is so comfortable with our new furniture we got recently.

I had gotten my present for the year a while ago. I got a new lens for my camera. It is super way cool. I love it. I received it early so I could photography Vincent's soccer team with it.  It has worked great!

My second Mothersday wish and Birthday wish was to get a new family photograph. My wish came true!  I love it!  Thank you boys!

Westra Visit

Mom and Dad came and visited for Dorene's party and spent about 2 weeks with us. Poor Mom got sick and was not feeling the best. The weather the fist week was not that great, so we did not get out that much. I loved having them back in town. I look forward to them coming back in the summer.

Dad wanted us to go to the place for Turkey sandwiches. They were good. Interesting place for sure. I don't think it has changed since the 50's. Same owner I am sure. He remembered Dad when he went thru the check out line. Crazy, good memory.

We did get to do a few things. We went to down town Seattle and also took a trip to see the tulips. But it rained and we did not make it all the way up there. So on the way home from the outlet mall we stopped at a Pie shop for lunch. We used to stop there when we were kids on the way home from Birch Bay.

Let me say, it is still the same. Exactly the same. So that is not real good. I don't think we will be heading back too soon, if ever. The boys showed us how they can tear phone books in half. We had pie, and the Lemon Meringue pie was as big as I remember. But not the most tasty.

We had a good time being together with David and Rebekah. Mom and Dad spent the first week with us then the second week with David.

I found this sheet at an Antique store. It reminded me of my bedroom with Allison when we were kids. We had a great time sharing a room. Well at least most of the time :-)  Love ya Al!

Mothers Day Cards

I helped the girls make some cute video cards for Mothers Day. I just love how they turned out. The girls are so dang cute!  I had to post this. I hope the Mom's don't mind. The flowers are on the side of my house. They have grown really big this year. They smell like Root Beer. Spring is great!

I could never get my boys to pose outside next to the flowers.....I love my nieces. I can get my girl fix. I even braided Natalie's hair for the photos.

After Effects 2

Ok here is my second project completed. I did not quite finish the song as I wanted. But all we had to do was at least 30 seconds.  It was a fun project. I think I like this better than working in Maya.

I still don't know what I want to do when I grow up.

Dorene 80 Years Old! Crazy

Last month my Aunt Dorene turned 80!

Can't believe it! That means I am getting old also! Yikes!
Her kids and Dave threw a Surprise party for her. I was lucky enough to be the official photographer. I wish everyone could have come. It was Awesome. They had enough talent in the family to put together a full band with a brass section and all!  They put on a show that was a musical of her life. Music from all the decades.

I will post a short video of the last song they did. Craig will put together some thing awesome for sure later.

Dorene has been a great supporter of every one in our family. She has been available to help in all our weddings with beautiful flowers, and when we were growing up we spent many a night at the Crandall house and had many parties with all her kids and cousins!

Love you Aunt Dorene!

Paul Leonard as Elvis of course

This was the most touching part for me. After blowing out the candles and singing Happy Birthday they began Grandpa's tradition of singing a dutch birthday song....I don't even know the proper name for it. But it brought back many memories with Grandma and Grandpa Westra singing it for years at every birthday party. I had a hard time not crying when I saw Jeff's face.

It's so nice to know that my Dad and his Sister were such good friends. My Mom has so many special memories with Dorene, especially how she was a big help to her when the kids were young. Showing her the ropes of being married and living in the Northwest.

There was too many photos to place on the blog. Can't wait to see the videos.

My video won't upload.....Darn

Love Her Mother

I am truly blessed with a great husband. He loves me and is a great example to my boys on how to love a wife. We need more men like this in the world. I am also thankful that my Father showed love to his wife so I knew how I was suppose to be treated. Both my Grandparents took great care and showed lots of love to there sweet hearts. Thank you also for the many Uncles and Cousins who all have been great examples in my life. Truly I am so blessed!

Thank you Gary for a great Mothers Day and Birthday. I loved being with you and the boys on such a relaxed day and for having the sun shine also was a bonus! I love you!

3 Times and Your OUT!!!

I have been nice to this mole for far too long.

He has come up in this same spot 3 times this month!  I have patches all over my nice green lawn with holes from these darn Moles. I am getting sick and tired of it. I have tried those spikes that make noises so they think some other mole is in the area. I have tried putting pellets down the holes to deter them. I have tried to kill all the grubs in the grass so they have nothing to eat. Nothing works! I have now bought some smoke that will kill them. I am just waiting for a new hole to put it to them. Wish me luck. Good Bye Moles!

My LIttle Friend!

This little humming bird and his friends have been hanging out with us all winter. But now Spring is here and the flowers are blooming and they don't need my food any more. They visit once in a while. But not as often as before. I have just gotten some fuchsias up in the front and they seem to be happy with that. We all really enjoy these cute birds.

Grease

Tiffany and Natalie were in the play "Grease"!

I had a great time watching them. They were both so cute. Not afraid of the lime light at all. Natalie could not get enough of being in the front of the stage. She kept finding a way to get to be front and center. Right now she is young enough that she gets away with this. Enjoy it while you can Natalie. She really reminds me of some one I know... Ok myself :-) During the play I got in trouble because I tried to video tape the girls. I did capture a little bit. What a bummer they were so strict about it. I was not going to pay $35 for a DVD.

I am so happy that I get to see the girls so much.
I love being an Aunt to them.

Not the best picture, but it's what I got.

Crayon Art

In planning for our Relief Society activity I remembered I wanted to learn how to do this cool craft with Crayons. So I went to You Tube and they had tons of videos on how to do this. Here is what I came up with. I am pretty happy how it turned out. I have it hanging in my front entry.

They have postponed the activity until October. Bummers, but at least I am prepared.

New Roof!

A New Roof!

Well this is not the most exciting thing to spend a lot of money on. Being a responsible adult is not always fun. Of course when they got started they ended up replacing most of the plywood. Ugh...But it turned out great. I love the type of shingles we picked out. Last time we got a new roof it was 20 years ago. We put it on our selves. We even had the Missionaries help us nail in the shingles.
I am glad we had Trevor Bean to help us out with the roof.

So glad we are done. Now we don't have to worry about the roof getting done anymore.

Yeah!
